• Happy Thanksgiving to you all! This is my first holiday officially living full-time at the farmyard and our first Thanksgiving with our very own turkeys, which we consider pets and will NOT be eating for dinner! I would normally be preparing a store-bought turkey for the oven right about now. But, as fate would have it, I’m not cooking the Thanksgiving feast this year.

  • This is B, Chris’s cat. I think perhaps I interrupted her snooze (typically an all-day, off-and-on snooze) while I was printing some things today for work. Let me start today’s post with a little bit of background for those of you who don’t know me. In addition to our little farmyard and its general upkeep, I also own a business, Pheonix Design Studio. About 3 years ago, after nearly 20 years in the graphic design and sign business, I decided to start my own company instead of working for someone else. Best decision ever!

  • Welcome back to The Willow Farmyard. It’s been a rather nice day for late November. I had some errands to run today and work to do so not much enjoying to be done. Chris is outside right now moving dirt around. We’ve got some big piles in the yard after constructing the barn!

    But speaking of the new barn, in addition to a wonderful new work space and some much needed storage, we also now have a covered porch. I’ve always wanted a big porch. Wouldn’t a 3 season porch be so amazing?? Well, I don’t have that but I do have a wonderful place that we can sit and watch the world go by. Well, sit might be a bit of a stretch. We’re usually a little too busy to do much sitting. Maybe next summer, after all the building and remodeling is done. Anyway, a girl can dream!
