We recently built a new barn. Well, the Mr did anyway. I can’t say that I was much help in the process. While the barn isn’t yet finished on the inside, one part that is complete is my new covered porch! Of course, one of the first things I did after the concrete dried was to start putting decor on it. I recently spruced it up for Christmas. Come take a look…

Each little nook on my porch now has some cozy Christmas trinkets or greenery. It feels so welcoming!

My vintage BIG H chicken feeder is the perfect size for a mini tree. A little wooden snowman that we made a few years ago looks great alongside the pops of red on these Coke and Pepsi crates. And there’s another little tree nestled in my vintage Kasco wire egg basket.

By the door, I have another Coke crate for more pops of red and this really great chippy white vintage sled with some greenery and a red ribbon. Another snowman makes an appearance along with a mini tree and more greens in the old metal scoops. Another wire egg basket with greens and berries, an even a red wooden rooster and ribbon, finishes off this vignette so nicely.

On the other side of the door, the red painted nail keg adds more Christmas cheer, with a small flocked tree on top. This green vintage scale is one of my absolute favorite pieces. And it couldn’t be better fro Christmas time! Topping off the area is a box I made out of shutters, filled with greenery and white and red berries. Most of the greenery is thrifted. I’d love to do real greenery in everything but, as I said before, not enough pines around here. I definitely need to get planting!

The right corner of the porch is anchored by these 2 barrels that the Mr and I got from an antique store up north. I love old barrels. Well, really anything that is made of aged wood. I added some greenery on the top of the large barrel, and another wooden snowman, along with a metal scoop that has rusty jingle bells. The grapevine snowman is something I found at a thrift store. He sits perfectly in that great greenish vintage water softener that I picked up last month. I added a red crate on top of the chippy white stool and another small tree. I think the coloring of the ice cream bucket looks great near that red! A vintage chicken feeder filled with greens and reds sits on front of it all.

I have a nice wreath on my door but I also have this sign on the side of the barn. I fell in love with it while selling my things at a venue during a craft show called Christmas through Lowell. I simply HAD to buy this great sign from SND Crafts!

We don’t currently have the electric all run in the new barn, so I didn’t do much with lighting on my porch this year. I plan to have some fairy lights up all year round as soon as I can! But I did add a few strands of rechargeable battery operated lights on a couple of the windows. Here are a few shots at night.

I hope you’ve enjoyed visiting my cozy Christmas covered porch today! Hope to see you back at The Willow Farmyard soon.
